Food Carts in Portland
Portland has seven main locations with various food carts set up to serve those in search of tasty, creative food. According to www.foodcartsportland.com, “Portland has over 200 carts available at any given time. Most of the carts are organized into what we call ‘Pods.’ These are usually parking lots with more than a few carts. The main locations are:
- SW 9th and Alder
- SE 12th and Hawthorne
- SW 4th and Hall
- SW 5th and Stark
- N Mississippi and Skidmore
- N Killingsworth and Greeley
- SE 43rd and Belmont
Each food cart is different and offers food for both young and old. For example, at the SE 12th and Hawthorne location, adults can enjoy a mozzarella and soppressata crepe with basil and roasted red peppers while the younger crowd will find a lemon sugar or nutella banana crepe.
Getting around to the food carts without a car is easy. The Portland Trimet Transportation system has buses, MAX lines, and the Streetcar downtown available to get you to your food cart destination.
